Word for the Week...JAN 13 --- 19 / 2006

"And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away: and there was no more sea.(v.2) And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.(v.3) And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.(v.4) And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.(v.5) And he that sat upon the throne said, BEHOLD, I MAKE ALL THINGS NEW, and he said unto me,Write, for these words are true and faithful.(v.6) And he said unto me, It Is done.I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.(v.7) He that overcometh shall Inhereit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son."

The whole emphasis here is on the word 'new'. It is mentioned four times in this passage of scripture.'The name Jerusalem' means the 'Jews Peace'...'Shalom' is a Hebrew greeting meaning 'Peace'. Jesus Is our Peace; (Eph.2:14). As believers in Christ, we share in this future Blessing; (Rev.3:12), as well as knowing His Peace in our lives now, at times, in the midst of chaos and confusion ! If anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation; (2 Cor.5:17). God makes all things new.Even this word 'new' is so powerful. It can boost sales in the high street, again and again, because all are interested in something that has not been previously seen or known. Those things which are boring, dead and 'old' are not of God because He Is always  in the 'NOW' and Is not the God of the dead, but the living! (Matt.22:32).The words that are 'true and faithful'(v.5) come from the One Who Is 'Faithful and True'.He Is The Great 'I Am'..The One Who always Is, Was and Will Be...God.(John 8:58).When we are thirsty we will drink! This analogy is a reference to The Holy Spirit, Given to us by Jesus Himself...(John 7:37). The Creator is also The Consummator...of all things.  'Alpha'  and 'Omega' are the first and last letters of the Gk. alphabet...another vivid Illustration of The ONE Who Is The Origin and the Finality of everything. May He be praised forevermore !!! Do you want to inherit all things??? Become an overcomer ! A small child gave me the formula one day...she said... 'Say Yes to Jesus and No to the devil' !!!...May The Lord Bless you.
