Word for the Week...MAY 28 ---JUNE 3 / 2007

"Then Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took the timbrel in her hand, and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. And Miriam answered them: ' Sing to The Lord, for He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and it's rider He has thrown into the sea.!'.

Miriam knew that a Great Deliverance had been effected for the people of Israel, by The Mighty Hand of God ! She wasted no time in demonstrating her gratitude in a dance of Praise with song unto The Lord. She was a wonderful example of spontaneity and exuberance ! There are many reasons for us to be similarly thankful and joyful in our response to The Lord's mercies, We are a redeemed people, sanctified through the precious Blood of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  To Lead 'Praise and Worship' is to enter into a wonderful Ministry. It is one of encouragement and edification for the Church as well as ushering in The Presence of God to the meeting. Miriam had no fear of man, whose narrow opinions often dampen the Spirit. She had only the fear of God, hence her actions, which proved this to be the case. Can we be prepared to step out for The Lord and be counted ? He is looking for our availability , remember, even more than our ability !!!

May The lord Bless you.
